There has been more than one occasion when I have found myself in deep research over days in trying to find out some minor details of some aspect of photography. These aspects, even though mionor, play a important role in capturing the picture right. For example when I first put my hands on a digital camera I was a little uncomfortable with the White Balance. So I started my research on White Balance till I fully understood what it was and how could I benefit from it in my photography.
Later I set to find out the relationship between the focal length and the aperture, the mathematical calculation between the focal length and the aperture with respect to the amount of light coming in.
The image a camera captures is dependent on the lens it uses and so my quest began to find out the parameters of determining the lens quality and I stumbled upon MTF Charts. I believe that understanding and interpreting a MTF chart is a good way of quantifying the lens performance and would play a big role in narrowing down upon a lens of choice
Over a period of time I have tried to find out the details of many such things. Here I am presenting some of the things which I found out, hoping it would help someone in some way.
I have worked on some articles which you can read from the left menu
